Fiesta Movement #1 (Saint Arnold Newery)

A brief description of Mission #1

Taken from Amber and Mark’s post http://www.fiestamovement2.com/hou/event-detail/viva-houston-party-or-shall-we-call-it-a-fiesta :

” This is a chance for you to mix & mingle, watch a “making of” the mural video by Zen Film, celebrate the collaboration of local art and local business & check out the new Ford Fiesta. Entertainment also includes music by guest DJs Fat Tony & Robert Ellis. We’ll also have a cool raffle benefiting Noah’s Kitchen & award a special prize to whoever is the “Mayor” of our mural on event day (visit the mural and check in on Foursquare & stay tuned for more details!) This is a FREE event and open to all, but you must RSVP and be on the list to attend.”

So Amber and Mark had all 500 RSVP’s filled!  Jenn and I were a little nervous about everything mostly because we didn’t know what to expect. The event was scheduled from 2-4 so we had all the volunteers meet us at the Newery at 1.
Candace Kizer (who has helped us a LOT lately),Sarah Lowry, Jenn and myself  began setting up the check-in  tables  with Mark and Amber.
Mitsy Parton, Shelley Reimert, and Blake Reimert began setting up the raffle tables as well as the Foursquare Swarm/ After-Party info on the hall tables while Megan Hendley  set up her portable “photo booth”.
Fat Tony and Robert Ellis set up their turn-tables and got the making of the mural video up  on the wall and ready to be viewed.
About 1pm we had a line out the door waiting to check in and get their tokens to enjoy some Saint Arnold beer.
Candace tackled the front of the line and Sarah, Jenn and I took the back line with two volunteers from Saint Arnold (checking ID’s).

There were a LOT of people so we were doing our best to get  people through, educate them on texting “WESLGT” to 44144 and check in on Foursquare to “up” those RSVP’s.

The awesome Mitsy went table to table letting everyone know about the Foursquare Super Swarm Badge and the After Party  at Chapultapec.

Shelley and Blake manned the raffle table selling LOTS of tickets =)
Meghan took TONS of fun pics.

We also had the amazing Mike Cortez out taking picture for 2995.com.

* We don’t have a pic of Mike taking pics =(  *
The music was awesome!

even had some folks dancing =)

The afternoon went pretty quickly and it seemed as if everyone had a BLAST!

4pm came quickly so we headed over to Chapultepec on Richmond to enjoy some great food, show off the mural, and get that Super Swarm Badge!

(Which we TOTALLY did thanks to everyone showing up and Amber and Mark getting people signed up on site. )

My Mom and Dad even did it!
The day was a success. You guys helped us raise $592 for Noah’s Kitchen. We can’t begin to thank everyone who attended.

And of course without Amber and Mark, NONE of this would have been possible. 1 down, 3 to go!!!

~A.

PS. Thank you to Saint Arnold and their crew =)
